Video – Cobourg Police Assist in Responding to Garage Fire

On February 9, 2026, at approximately 11:00 p.m., while conducting proactive radar enforcement on William Street, an officer observed smoke coming from a garage at a nearby residence.

The officer attempted to extinguish the fire using a portable extinguisher.

A second police unit arrived to assist; however, efforts were unsuccessful.

Cobourg Fire arrived and extinguished the blaze.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a diesel heater inside the garage.

No injuries were reported.
