Cobourg Police – Incidents Include x2 Fail to Comply, Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Meth, Cocaine, Fentanyl (No Names Released)

A 37-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after failing to comply with probation.

On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police observed a man in breach of court-imposed conditions in the area of King Street East and Church Street.

The man was arrested. During the arrest, police located brass knuckles. As a result of the police investigation, the 37-year-old Cobourg man was charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession Contrary to Order, and two (2) counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

He was additionally charged with Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.


On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the area of James Street West and George after a resident reported hearing what sounded like someone being assaulted inside the residence.

Police responded to the address and conducted a door knock. Officers entered the unit to ensure the safety of everyone inside.

They were not able to locate any evidence of an assault.

However, officers observed in plain view several types of controlled substances throughout the residence.

As a result of the police investigation, a 29-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Schedule I substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Schedule I substance (Crack Cocaine), and Possession of a Schedule I substance (Unknown Pills).

The man was released on an undertaking with a future court date.


A 21-year-old Cobourg man has been arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers on general patrol located a man in the area of Division Street and Chapel Street with a small amount of drugs next to him in plain view.

Officers arrested the male for possessing the controlled substance, and after further investigation, discovered he was on conditions with a curfew.

As a result, a 21-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) and three counts of Breach of Conditional Sentence Order.

The accused was held for a Show Cause Hearing.
