City of Kawartha Lakes Police – Robbery Suspect Arrested (Name Released)

An arrest has been made in a string of robberies of convenience stores in Lindsay, ON.

On August 6, 2025 at 9:30am, members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Community Response Unit observed a vehicle in the area a William Street North being driven suspiciously with equipment violations including disguised vehicle plates.

Uniformed officers were requested to assist, and a traffic stop was conducted. The 31-year-old driver of the vehicle was identified as the suspect responsible for several robberies in Lindsay ON, reported over the last week. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident. During a subsequent search police seized a knife believed to be the weapon used during the incidents.

While in police custody the accused provided verbal identification which was later determined by the Forensic Identification Unit to be false.

As a result of the investigation Chris Sauve of Smiths Falls, ON was charged with:

· Robbery x 5
· Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose x 2
· Obstruct Peace Officer
· Breach of Probation x 5

He was held in custody and transported to the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay pending a bail hearing.
