Video – Another Possible Suspicious Fire in Downtown Cobourg

Cobourg Fire Department responded to a rubbish fire in downtown Cobourg on Monday, June 23, 2025.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. fire crews were dispatched to the area of King Street West for a rubbish/garbage fire.

Fire crews discovered someone had extinguished the fire before crews arrived on scene.

There were a number of boxes that were on fire as Tuesday is garbage/recycling day for downtown Cobourg.

Although there were a number of other flammable products nearby, the fire was extinguished before it spread.

There have been three suspicious fires within approximately a month in the immediate area of the fire on Monday night.

Cobourg Police have not released any information pertaining to any of the fires in the downtown core.
