
A 51-year-old Campbellcroft woman is facing impaired charges after police responded to a report on Saturday.
On June 21, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., police responded to reports of a possible impaired driver on William Street in the Town of Cobourg.
Police responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop. As a result of the police investigation, the driver, a 51-year-old Campbellcroft woman, was arrested. While in police custody, the accused spit in the arresting officer’s face.
The accused was charged with operation while impaired and assaulting a peace officer. The vehicle was impounded, and her driver’s licence was suspended. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
A 49-year-old Cobourg man is facing intimate partner violence charges after police responded to a report of assault Sunday.
On June 22, 2025, police responded to a report of assault at a residence in the town of Cobourg. As a result of the police investigation, a 49-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault–spousal and failure to comply with a probation order. The accused was held for a show cause hearing.
A 37-year-old woman is facing intimate partner violence charges after police responded to a disturbance on Sunday morning.
On June 22, 2025, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a home in Cobourg. As a result of the police investigation, a 37-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with assault – spousal. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
Four individuals were charged with theft after police responded to multiple reports of shoplifting Sunday.
On June 22, 2025, police responded to four separate reports of shoplifting at a business on Division Street in the Town of Cobourg.
As a result, two Cobourg men and a Hamilton Township woman were arrested and charged with theft and possession under $ 5,000 and released on an undertaking with future court dates. A fourth person, a woman from Cobourg, was charged with engaging in prohibited activity on premises under the Trespass to Property Act.
A 41-year-old woman from Cobourg is facing charges after police asked a group to leave the property.
On June 23, 2025, police on patrol observed four individuals congregating in an area near King Street and Division Street in Cobourg, marked with “no trespassing” signs. The group was asked to leave the property by the officer. The officer observed that one person was in possession of suspected Fentanyl. As a result, a 41-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance and breach of recognizance. The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
