Peterborough Police Service – Incidents Include, Fraud, Break and Enter, Impaired Arrest (No Names Released)

Fraud Arrest

A 44-year-old Peterborough woman is facing a fraud charge in connection with money being taken from a local business.

At approximately 11:30am on Monday, June 16, 2025, officers were called to the business and learned that an audit had revealed that just over $30,000 had been taken between February 2025 and June 2025.

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Fraud Over $5000

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court yesterday, June 16, 2025.

 

Impaired Arrest

A 48-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Monday afternoon.

At approximately 5:05pm on June 16, 2025, officers were called to a parking lot in the Lansdowne Street and Rye Street area after a concerned citizen call police about a possible impaired driver.  Upon arrival to the area, officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration

The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 29, 2025.

 

Break and Enter Arrest

A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with a theft reported last week.

At approximately 8:00am on Monday, June 16, 2025, an officer on general patrol stopped to check on several people. During the interaction, the officer spotted a man wanted in connection with a bicycle theft in the Homewood and Monaghan Avenue area that happened June 11th.  The man was taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 29, 2025.
