After what seemed like a long wait, at least seven cygnets came into this world on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Nawautin Sanctuary.

Visitors to the sanctuary south of Grafton have been keeping an eye on the next for a number of weeks.

Swans usually lay a “clutch of five to seven eggs” in late April.

The incubation period is approximately 33 to 37 days.

Visitors to the sanctuary said there were no signs of cygnets on Sunday, but on Monday there were at least seven cygnets that were in the next staying close to the mother swan.

As word spread, a number of photographers arrived and took photos of the proud parents and their little ones.

During the course of the last few days, with patience, there are always wildlife in the area.
