Filming of the series The Greatest, wrapped up in Cobourg on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

The production company Reunion MA Production Inc. was in town filming for a new series entitled “The Greatest,” a spin-off of the 1977 feature film covering the life of Muhammad Ali.

Filming is scheduled to take place in the Toronto area from April 21 to August 31.

The Greatest is planned for Amazon Prime Video which stars, Jaalen Best as Ali.

“The Greatest” is being produced in collaboration with Ali’s estate, with his widow Lonnie Ali serving as executive producer.

Variety says the series depicts, “The amazing victories and defeats that made Ali a legend, both in and out of the ring, have been well documented and while those landmark events will live in ‘The Greatest,’ the heartbeat of the story is fueled by all the moments that took place outside of the spotlight. The world remembers an icon, but ‘The Greatest’ is about a man, a husband, a father, a brother and a son.”

A number of people stood across from Victoria Hall watching the filming taking photos of the actors in their period dress.

Outside Trinity United Church a buffet of food was set up for the production throughout the day.
