Preliminary information suggests the following:

On the night of April 27, 2025, an Ontario Provincial Police officer was driving eastbound on Highway 7 in Madoc when he observed a vehicle traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. This same vehicle had been reported to police as driving dangerously.

The 57-year-old motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle did not suffer any serious injuries.
