Port Hope Police – Incidents Include Suspect Charged with Uttering Threats, Suspect Charged with Assault (No Names Released)

Port Hope Man Charged With Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats
A 46-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged with assault after police were dispatched to a Cavan Street address in the early hours of January 25, 2025, regarding unwanted parties at the residence.

Upon arrival, police were able to identify the two unwanted individuals, who accused the complainant of threatening them with two knives and threatening to kill them during an altercation. As a result, one male was arrested for assault with a weapon and uttering death threats.

The male was released on an undertaking with set conditions.

Assault/Theft Under $5000
A 40-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and theft under $5,000 after Police were dispatched to an apartment complex for a domestic situation.

On January 25th, in the late afternoon, officers attended the unit where they located a female in distress who informed police that a male known to her had squeezed her neck and had stolen her wallet containing an amount of cash, before leaving the residence. The female was transported to hospital and police attempted to locate the male but were unsuccessful.

During the evening shift, Port Hope Police were contacted by an unknown complainant, informing them that the male they were looking for could be found at a Port Hope Address. Upon arrival, the male was located and arrested for the above charges.

The male was released on an undertaking with conditions.
