Belleville Police – Incidents Include Vehicle Strikes Cow, Stolen Vehicle Leads to Arrests

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 72 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on January 21, 2025 to 5:00 am on January 22, 2025.

Vehicle struck cow
On the 21st of January at 5:05am, Belleville Police attended a collision between a pick-up truck and a cow on Scuttlehole Rd. The cow died upon impact however the driver was not injured as a result of the collision. The owner of the cow was notified and the pickup truck was towed from the scene.

Stolen vehicle leads to arrests
On the 21st of January at 2:18pm, while on patrol in the city’s west end, an officer received a notification of a stolen vehicle while using the Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR). The vehicle was stopped and the two occupants from Hamilton were arrested. Tara Farrel, 31-years-old was charged with one count of possession of stolen property and released on an Undertaking with a court date in February. The 34-year-old male driver was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited weapon, and two counts of fail to comply with probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
