Cobourg Cougars Claw Their Way Back to Beat the Pickering Panthers

With less than a minute in the third period the Cobourg Cougars scored to beat the Pickering Panthers at the Cobourg Community Centre on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Pickering held a 1-0 leading going into the third period, but at the 1:30 mark, Ervie Terwilliger scored on a power play with assists by Beckett Ewart and Jonathan Kapagerdis.

But Pickering scored just a few minutes later to take a 2-1 lead.

Cobourg pulled their goalie and tied it up with just over a minute left in the game with a goal by Beckett Ewart and assists by Gabe Runco and Jonathan Kapagerdis.

The Cougars carried that momentum and clawed their way to a 3-2 win by a goal with under a minute to go by Zachary Carrier and assists by Wyatt Gregory and Jesse English.

The Cougars next game is in Cobourg on Thursday, January 23, where they will take on the Trenton Sting at 7:30 p.m.
