City of Belleville New Special Events Process Makes Hosting Your Next Event Easier

In City Hall, Local

The City of Belleville’s Community Services department in collaboration with a new special events organizing team is pleased to introduce a new, streamlined process for hosting special events on City property.

The new process involves an easy-to-use form and webpage which outlines important documents such as building permits, insurance, food vendor and safety information, and other organizational requirements, reducing the amount of barriers for organizers and making planning an event in the city easier than ever.

Depending on the event size, type and logistics required, organizers will be asked to complete the application process 30 days to nine months prior to the event. Staff will then work with the organizer to ensure that all requirements are met and facilities are properly booked.

“Belleville is proud to hosts hundreds of community events, festivals and celebrations each year,” said Manager of Recreation Services Tracy Newton. “With most of these events being coordinated by members of the public and held on City property, it is important that we have a clear process in place for things like booking facilities, getting permits and approvals, and having a safety plan, to ensure events are successful. We are very pleased to be introducing this new process and look forward to a wonderful year of events in Belleville.”

Find the new webpage and form at Belleville.ca/SpecialEventsApplication to start booking your events today.
