Northumberland OPP – Drugs Found on Toronto Man While Breaching Conditions (Name Released)

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual found in breach of court conditions.

On January 12. 2025, at around 12:40 p.m., OPP received a report regarding a person believed to breaching conditions of a court release order at an address in Bewdley.

A person matching the description provided to police was located nearby and they were placed under arrest. Following a search, a small quantity of drugs was also discovered.

As a result, Richard MITCHELL (age 41) from Toronto, has been charged with:

–      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid.

The individual was held for bail before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
