City of Belleville Flags Lowered to Half-staff in Honour of Former Councillor Kay Manderville

In City Hall

Mayor Neil Ellis

I am deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of Kay Manderville.

Kay served on Belleville City Council for five consecutive terms between 1988 and 2003, first as an alderman in 1988 and as a councillor. During this time, she served on several committees including the Belleville Planning Committee, Heritage, Social Services, the Committee to establish the Parrott Riverfront Trail, Downtown Improvement Association and several cultural exchanges.

Her involvement in our community was far-reaching and the impacts of her time on council can still be seen today. Her legacy will continue to be honoured at the Lions’ Park pedestrian bridge which was named after her in 2020 and we will never forget her dedication and commitment to our community. On behalf of the City and Council, I extend my sincere condolences to Kay’s family and loved once during this time.

The flags at City Hall, Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre and Fire Station #1 will be lowered until further notice in her honour.
