Peterborough County OPP – Petawawa Man Charged with Impaired After Being Stopped for Speeding (Name Released)

Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after stopping a vehicle for speeding on Highway 115.

On Friday December 27, 2024, shortly after 3:30pm, Peterborough County OPP officers were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 115. An officer’s attention was drawn towards a vehicle that was traveling at an apparent high rate of speed. After obtaining a speed reading on LIDAR of 145km in a 100km zone, the officer conducted a traffic stop.

After a brief conversation with the driver, the officer made a demand for the Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of their breath resulting in a reading of ‘Fail’, at which point they were arrested.

Jordan MCLENNAN (age 26) of Petawawa, ON., was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while impaired

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 28, 2025.
