Awards are evaluated through the following categories:

· Outstanding Revitalization – Nominees have sustained or restored a building or property, maintaining its original rare or unique qualities, its significance as an early example of a particular style, its distinctive expression, materials, or construction methods, its high degree of craftsmanship or artistic merit, its notable technical or scientific achievements, or it’s adaptive use.

· Landmark Revitalization – Nominees have demonstrated importance in defining, maintaining or supporting the character of an area, or links to their surroundings physically, functionally, visually or historically.

· Preservation of Historical Significance – Nominees have secured long-term community recognition by demonstrating or reflecting the work or ideas of an architect, builder or designer who is significant to our community.

Those interested in submitting nominations for any of the above categories are asked to complete the nomination form and return it along with any supporting documents by mail, email or fax (as noted in the form) before the closing date on Jan. 31 at 4 p.m.

Awards will be presented by the Chair of Heritage Belleville during Heritage Week in February.
