Video – Jubilant Crowd at Port Hope Candlelight Festival

In Local

Approximately 1,300 people took part in the Candlelight Festival which included an illuminated procession and carol-sing down Walton Street to Memorial Park on Friday, October 29, 2024.

Once at the park, the countdown was on for the Christmas lights to be turned on, but that certainly wasn’t all that was happening on Friday.

The picturesque town had something for all ages including ice carvings, live music at the bandshell, an outdoor market, festive food including maple syrup and evening shopping.

Santa comes to town on Saturday with the Port Hope Santa Claus parade beginning at 1 p.m.
