Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Public Intoxication, Mischief, Two Counts Assaulting Police, Two Counts Breach (No Name Released)

A Cobourg man is facing charges after police on patrol responded to a disturbance Friday night.

On Friday, October 18th, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., police were on general patrol and observed a male in the downtown area of Cobourg intoxicated.

The 21-year-old Cobourg man was arrested for public intoxication. During the arrest, a witness advised police that the man had just damaged a motor vehicle. While in police custody, the man assaulted officers.

As a result of the police investigation, the 21-year-old Cobourg man was charged with public intoxication, mischief under $5,000, two counts of assaulting a peace officer, and two counts of breach of probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
