Peterborough Police – Fatal Fire in Peterborough

The Peterborough Police Service and Ontario Fire Marshal are investigating after a fatal fire in Peterborough Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 3:40pm on October 1, 2024, an officer on general patrol was flagged down and made aware of a residential fire at Rubidge Street and Townsend Street.

A 43-year-old Peterborough woman was found inside the apartment by Peterborough Fire Services and despite life-saving efforts from Fire and EMS, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Peterborough Police Service and Ontario Fire Marshal will be at the scene today conducting their investigation.
