Durham Regional Police – Manager of Hockey Team Facing Fraud Charge (Name Released)

A female is facing a fraud charge after funds for a North Durham Minor Hockey Team were misappropriated.

On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, members of the Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) concluded an investigation into the fraudulent spending of funds, during the 2023-2024 hockey season, for the North Durham Minor Hockey Association Team. The suspect, who is the team manager, embezzled funds that were intended to be used for team expenses during the season. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Jennifer HENRY, age 42 from Port Perry is charged with: Fraud Over $5000.

She was released on an Undertaking.

Police are appealing for any potential victims related to this investigation to come forward, as investigators believe there may be additional victims.
