Busker Zones Hit the Streets of Downtown Port Hope

In Community, Local

In response to downtown construction, the Port Hope Heritage Business Improvement Area (HBIA) has launched an expanded busker program to invigorate local businesses and attract visitors during this transformative period.

Acknowledging the challenges of construction, the Port Hope HBIA has introduced new busker zones strategically placed across town.

These areas aim to feature diverse performers such as musicians, artists, and entertainers, enhancing experiences for residents and visitors alike.

Robin Dines, Chairperson of the Port Hope HBIA, emphasized, “The revitalized busker program demonstrates our dedication to local businesses and preserving downtown’s unique charm amidst ongoing construction. By providing entertainment in key areas, we aim to increase foot traffic, foster community interaction, and bolster business for all HBIA Members.”

The new busker zones are now operational, having soft-launched over the Canada Day Long weekend. Performances are scheduled throughout the summer, with a call for more artists to entertain downtown. Local artists interested in participating are encouraged to apply by contacting adminhbia@port-hope.com.
