Video – OFM Called to Determine Cause of House Fire in Hamilton Township

The Office of the Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate after a home was heavily damaged by fire in Hamilton Township.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on June 22, 2024 Hamilton Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire on Leach Road at Rose Road.

When crews arrived flames were coming from the second floor of the home.

Alnwick/Haldimand Fire Department was also called for assistance shuttling water to the scene.

Firefighters first attacked the fire from the outside until the flames were knocked down, then extinguished the fire from the interior.

Ontario Hydro was also called to disconnect the power to the home.

A man and two dogs escaped the fire and weren’t injured.

The home and property is up for sale listed at $1,500,000.00 and a open house was to happen on Saturday.
