SIU Investigating Death of Man in Tyendinaga Township

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 66-year-old man this morning in Tyendinaga Township.
Preliminary information suggests the following:
  • At approximately 9:35 a.m., Ontario Provincial Police officers received a 911 call about a man in mental distress at a residence on Enright Road.
  • Officers responded and attempted to communicate with the man.
  • The man was located outside the residence with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to the case.
