Port Hope Police – North York Woman Charged with Fail to Comply (No Name Released)

A North York female was arrested and charged after failing to comply with and OIC Undertaking stemming from an incident in September 2023.

On September 2, 2023, the accused was arrested and charged with Theft under $5,000.00. She was released on an Officer-in-charge Undertaking with multiple conditions.  Once of those conditions being that she must remain in the province of Ontario. The accused signed that she understood the conditions she was being released on.

On January 17, 2024, Port Hope Police Service was contacted by an officer from the Richmond, BC detachment of the RCMP.  He advised the currently had a female at their detachment assisting with translation.  Port Hope Police Officer’s confirmed that the accused’s conditions were still in effect and that she was breaching her conditions.

As a result, the accused is charged with Section 145(4)(a) – Fail to Comply with an OIC Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code.  Due to the fact the accused appears to be out of province, a warrant will be sought for her arrest.
