Northumberland OPP – Hamilton Township Man Charged with Impaired (Name Released)

A member from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual after a concerned citizen alerted police to an impaired driver.

On January 29, 2024, at approximately 8:25 p.m., OPP responded to a report regarding an individual in a vehicle in the vicinity of Jack Gordon Road in Hamilton Township. An officer located the vehicle and entered into an impaired operation investigation.

As a result, Britton JIBB, 39-years-old from Hamilton Township has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

Th e accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
