Quinte West OPP – Four People Charged in Drug Trafficking Investigation (Names Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged four people following the execution of a search warrant in Trenton.

On January 11, 2023, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Whites Road, Quinte West as part of a drug trafficking investigation. As a result, four people were arrested and a quantity of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine was confiscated. Cash, imitation firearms and other weapons were also seized.

Roger BAKER, 50 years old from Quinte West was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

Katelynn HARPELL, 28 years old from Quinte West was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid

Brian VACHON, 39 years old from Quinte West was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of proceeds of crime
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Ashley EWANCHEK, 36 years old from Quinte West was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine< /li>
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Fail to comply with release order

 

Roger BAKER was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a future court date. The other three accused were held for a bail hearing.
