Cobourg Police – Youth Charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Dangerous Driving

A 17-year-old youth faces charges after a police investigation into an incident.

On Monday, September 18, 2023, police commenced an investigation after receiving information that a youth was hit by a car in a parking lot in the Town of Cobourg.

Police investigation revealed a youth was struck by a vehicle. The driver exited the vehicle and punched the youth before leaving the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 17-year-old male, was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and dangerous driving.

The accused was released from custody on an undertaking with a future court date.
