Northumberland OPP – Assault Charge in Alnwick/Haldimand Township (Name Released)

(ALNWICK-HALDIMAND TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has made an arrest following an investigation into a reported assault.

On September 10, 2023, the Northumberland OPP received a call shortly after 12:00 a.m., in relation to an assault that occurred at an event in Grafton. Upon arrival, police started an investigation based on the information provided by the victim. The victim was treated by Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

As a result of the investigation, an individual turned themselves in to the OPP on October 6, 2023. Geoffrey DEVENPORT (age 32) from Stouffville, Ontario was charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on November 29, 2023.
