Port Hope Resident Wins Nearly $60,000 with Lotto 6/49

Frank Gardiner of Port Hope can “find his possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $59,762.20 in the June 7, 2023 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Frank, an 86-year-old father of two, said he enjoys playing LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX. He has won smaller prizes in the past, but this is his largest win to date!

The retiree went to the convenience store that is close to his favourite breakfast restaurant he visits weekly. When he scanned his ticket at the ticket checker, he discovered he’d won big. “I was ecstatic!” he said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall.

After checking his ticket himself, Frank handed the ticket to the store clerk to validate it. “I think he was more excited than I was. If I had a video of his reaction, we could have sold it to Hollywood!”

The first person Frank shared the news with was his son. “He was golfing at the time and was so happy.”

Frank plans to share his winnings with family. “I feel very lucky and good! I hope this isn’t the end of my luck,” he laughed.
