Breaking News – Northumberland OPP Conducting Death Investigation

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are conducting a death investigation at an address in Hamilton Township.

On Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 5:17 p.m., the Northumberland OPP received information regarding a child who had gone missing from an address in Hamilton Township. The child was subsequently located deceased at the address.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and the Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) are continuing the investigation, under the direction of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.

Police are advising there is no threat to public safety.

The investigation remains ongoing. More information will be provided when appropriate.
