Cobourg Plans a First-Ever Pride Festival

In City Hall

Cobourg Deputy Mayor Nicole Beatty took a moment at Monday’s council meeting to invite the community to the town’s Pride Festival June 2 and 3.

It’s the first-ever Pride Festival, she said, taking place downtown where the freshly renewed Pride Crosswalk will show its vivid colours.

On June 2, the west end of King Street will be closed for a drag show and marketplace, Beatty said. The following day, there will be a 10 a.m. Pride parade for people and pets.

Councillor Adam Bureau asked if anyone (or any pet) could be in the parade. Beatty said it was open to everyone, and was generously sponsored by All Creatures Great and Small.
