In Local, Police Blotter

On April 19, 2023 Port Hope Police received a 911 radio call to attend an address on Hope Street N. for reports of a male armed with a handgun and pointing it at the complainant’s dog, his mother and two other males.

Investigation revealed that a 23-year old, Gores Landing male had been consuming alcohol with the complainant and friends at this residence.  An argument broke out during the evening where they were arguing over clothes that the accused was wearing.   The accused pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the complainant and another male.

The area was contained by officers from Port Hope, Cobourg and OPP.  Durham Regional Police were also called to assist with their K9 unit and their helicopter, to assist in locating the accused.  The search of the area was negative for the male.

Police later observed the accused leaving the area in a vehicle.  23-year-old, Travis AIRD, of Gores Landing has been arrested and charged.  He will appear for a bail hearing on the 20th of April 2023.   The firearm has not yet been located.  A further search of the area for the firearm will be conducted April 20, 2023.

The male was charged with the following:
