Port Hope Firefighters Extinguish Small Brush Fire

In Local

Firefighters had to leave a large field fire to respond to another fire after a controlled burn got out of control.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 some firefighters that were battling a 50-acre field fire had to leave to respond to reports of a fire burning just off the north side of the road in the area of the 4th Line and County Road 10 in the Municipality of Port Hope.

When crews arrived on scene, a fire was burning just off the road and it appears a person may have been having a controlled burn that got out of control.

The fire was quickly extinguished.
