Peterborough County OPP – Fatal Collision Closes Chemong Road

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred yesterday evening at approximately 6:45pm on Chemong Road between Lindsay Road and 5th Line.

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. One victim was pronounced deceased at scene and another victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation . Chemong Road was closed between Lindsay Road and 5th Line while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
