Cobourg Police – Break and Enter, Obstruct Peace Officer, Two Counts Fail to Comply (No Name Released)

A man has been charged with break and enter after police responded to an alarm at a local business early Saturday morning.

On Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 2:00 a.m., police attended a business on Ontario Street in the Town of Cobourg in response to an alarm.

Police attended, searched the building and located an individual inside.

As a result of the police investigation, a 28-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Break and Enter – contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

2. Obstruct Peace Officer – contrary to section 129(a) CCC

3. Two Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation – contrary to section 733.1(1) CCC

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
