Rotary Club of Port Hope Cuts The Ribbon On New Park Celebrating A Century of Service

In Editor Choice, Local

Members of the Municipality of Port Hope held the grand opening of the Rotary Centennial Riverview Park on Thursday, November 24, 2022.

The event took place at 1 McKibbon Street which is near Corbett’s Dam and was held to commemorate the 100 years of service by the Rotary Club of Port Hope.

The Club has partnered with the Municipality of Port Hope to upgrade and improve the small park and trail located on the west side of the Ganaraska River between the fish ladder and Molson Street.

Future plans are to have the structure surrounded by gardens near the parking lot, widening and extending the existing trail with the addition of benches at resting spots and plants of shrubs and trees.

The Rotary Club has set aside funds for their centennial project to improve the park for the community to enjoy, but they need help from the community.

Individuals and businesses can make a donation towards the improvement of the park and trail. All Monetary donations are welcome. Donations in the amount of $25.00 or more are eligible to receive a charitable tax receipt from the Municipality of Port Hope.
