Cobourg Council Supports Draven Alert

Cobourg council this week followed the lead of its Brighton counterparts in passing a motion urging the creation of a Draven Alert, a variation on the Amber Alert that aims to protect vulnerable individuals who go missing by spreading the word to be on the look-out.

This sort of thing might have helped 11-year-old Draven Graham of Lindsay when he recently went missing. But even though he had limited verbal skills and other challenges, he didn’t fit the existing Amber Alert criteria.

Councillor Nicole Beatty noted this week that the Change.Org site now has more than 80,000 signatures supporting the creation of a Drayven Alert and made the motion to support the move as a council
