Cobourg Police – Cobourg Woman Charged with Impaired Driving (No Name Released)

Cobourg woman arrested for impaired driving after police observe vehicle speeding downtown Cobourg.

On Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 10:40 p.m., police on general patrol downtown Cobourg observed a vehicle travelling northbound on College Street at speeds exceeding the posted speed limit. The officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop near Division Street and Chapel Street.

As a result of the police investigation, the driver, a 53-year-old woman from Cobourg, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Operation while impaired contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

2. Refuse to Comply with demand contrary to Section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code

The woman was released on an undertaking with a court date scheduled for May 11, 2022. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
