United Way Northumberland Launches Trent Hills Day of Caring

In Local, Upcoming Events

United Way Northumberland is proud to announce the Trent Hills Day of Caring, taking place on Friday, October 23, 2026. The event will bring together volunteers, businesses,
community organizations and municipal partners to complete meaningful projects throughout Hastings, Campbellford and Warkworth.

Modelled after the successful Day of Caring event that has been held in West Northumberland for 27 years, this initiative will be delivered in Trent Hills, creating a similar coordinated day of volunteer action focused on strengthening community well-being and supporting local organizations.

The Trent Hills Day of Caring will mobilize community volunteers and sponsors to assist with projects that may otherwise be difficult for organizations to complete because of limited time and resources. Volunteers will support a variety of projects; helping with seasonal cleanup and beautification projects, and enhancing community spaces that
benefit local organizations and residents across the municipality.

“Day of Caring is about celebrating volunteerism,” said Alicia Vandine, Executive Director, United Way Northumberland.

“Our Day of Caring Partner Committee has worked so hard to build this successful model in West Northumberland, and we are so pleased to extend to Trent Hills to provide the same opportunity.”

Applications are now open. To learn more or submit a project application, visit www.mynuw.org/day-of-caring. For more information, to register a volunteer team, sponsor a project or inquire about potential projects, please contact Janine Lameiras, Community Outreach and Development Coordinator with United Way Northumberland, development@nuw.unitedway.ca or call 905-372-6955.
