Rainbow Trout Run Is on Along Ganaraska River in Port Hope

In Local, Photo Gallery

The annual run is on for rainbow trout along the Ganaraska River in Port Hope.

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, the trout were constantly jumping at Corbett’s dam just south of Highway 401.

While some of the fish did make it through the gateway, there were also a number that hit the rubber mats that are installed to protect the fish from getting injured.

The trout run is expected to take approximately several weeks bringing anglers and tourists to town to view the fish.
