Cobourg Police – Woman Charged with Theft (No Name Released)

Cobourg woman arrested for theft after police are called to a Cobourg business.

On Monday, March 28, 2022, at 1:55 p.m., police were called to a business in the northwest end of Cobourg in response to a report of theft. The caller reported that a woman had left the store with two bags of unpaid merchandise.

As a result of the subsequent police investigation, a 29-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Theft Under $5,000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code

2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

3. Enter Premise when entry Prohibited, contrary to section 2(1)(a)(i) of the Trespass to Property Act

The woman was held for a bail hearing.
