Peterborough County OPP – Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Impaired Charges

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act offence on Highway 7 at approximately 9:00am yesterday morning. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs.

Christina DUNLOP (age 28) of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-cocaine

• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

• Speeding

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-ecstasy

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on April 26, 2022.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
