City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Weekend Charges

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested two drivers over the weekend, at two separate traffic investigations.

Shortly after 9:00 pm on February 19, 2022 officers conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on County Road 36 in Verulam Township. The ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver.

Michael MCQUADE, 62 years-of-age, of Port Perry has been charged with, Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, vehicle impounded for seven days, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 17, 2022.

 

On February 20, 2022 at approximately 6:30 pm officers responded to a multi vehicle collision at which no one was injured. Through the officer’s investigation a demand was given for a breath sample. The driver refused to comply and as a result was arrested and charged.

Joel Reynolds, 63 years-of-age, of Janetville has been charged with, Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused also had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, vehicle impounded for seven days, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 24, 2022.
