Two people were sent to hospital following a house fire in Cobourg on Monday, February 14, 2022.

Shortly after 7 am, fire crews was dispatched to a home on Burwash Street in Cobourg’s west end.

When crews arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the residence and the occupants were out of home.

An adult and youth were taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation and released.

A cat was also rescued by firefighters.

Damaged to the home is in excess of $200,000.
