Quinte West OPP – Search Warrant Executed in Quinte West

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged six people following the execution of a search warrant in Trenton.

On February 4, 2022 at approximately 7:00 a.m., the OPP Community Street Crime Units (CSCU) of Quinte West and Central Hastings, assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Canine Unit executed a search warrant of a residence on West Street. As a result of the search, six people were arrested, and a quantity of suspecte d cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, along with cash and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Opal BIRD, 43 years old, Ashley FLETCHER, 30 years old, Michael FOWLER, 37 years old, Brock PODRATS, 34 years old, Taylor WHITING, 30 years old all from Quinte West along with Jomone WALKER, 26 years old from Brampton have been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine;
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl;
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine; and
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Additionally, FOWLER, PODRATS, WHITING and WALKER were each charged with failing to comply with probation orders.

BIRD and WALKER were held for bail and were scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 5, 2022. The remainder of the accused were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 7, 2022.
