A small group gathered in Port Hope on Thursday, January 20, 2022 to protest vaccine mandates.
The protest was organized by Port Hope resident Autumn Woolsey
Eleven people holding placards and Canadian flags were on the sidewalk across from the Port Hope Medical Centre located at 249 Ontario Street that started at approximately 11 a.m.
Woolsey said it was a peaceful protest to “take a stand as Canadians that this is against our Charter of Rights and our freedom of rights concerning COVID-19 restrictions.
Woolsey said being forced to put a experimental drug inside bodies is not right.
“People are losing their jobs and it shouldn’t be happening.”
“For us as Canadians, we’re standing up against the fight of all of this.”
The main point of the protest is that the lock downs need to end.
“It needs to be freedom of choice. We shouldn’t be discriminating against anyone because of their choice.”
“We need to open up all our businesses, let these people begin to live their lives again. And not lose their shirts over a lockdown that is very unnecessary.”
