Kawartha Lakes OPP – Driver Charged in Fail to Remain Collision

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver who was found to be impaired after fleeing from a collision in Bobcaygeon.

On December 10, 2021 at approximately 7:30 p.m. officers were called to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision where a driver had been injured at East Street South, Bobcaygeon. The suspect driver left the scene, and was later located. Through the investigation the driver was found to be impaired and was arrested.

Jacob Nicholls, 29 years-of-age, of Bobcaygeon, has been charged with:

·        Fail to stop at accident resulting in bodily harm

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Operation causing bodily harm

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on December 23, 2021.
