Port Hope Police – Thunder Bay Man Charged with Refuse to Comply

Officers arrested a male party on November 16th, 2021 at around 7:22 pm,  after observing his vehicle pull out from a local establishment with no tail lights on.  The vehicle was observed crossing the centre line as the operator drove north on Ontario Street, Port Hope, Ontario.  As a result a traffic stop was conducted .  The male had a strong odour of alcohol emitting from his breath when the officers spoke to him.  The operator of the vehicle , Daniel Stokaliuk of Thunder Bay, Ontario was arrested for impaired driving.

Mr. Stokaliuk was taken back to the Port Hope Police Service, however  refused to comply with the breath demand. As as a result Stokaliuk was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The accused was released on an appearance notice to appear in court in December, 2021 to answer to the charge of impaired driving- alcohol and drugs, and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
