Cobourg Police Seek Public Assistance to Identify Suspect in Recent Thefts from Vehicles

Cobourg Police Service is looking for public assistance to identify a suspect linked to multiple recent incidents of thefts from vehicles in Cobourg.
On Sunday, November 7, 2021, police responded to a call from a resident who reported their car window was smashed and a wallet stolen from the vehicle sometime between the evening of November 6 and the morning of November 7 on Munson Street.

Uniformed officers and Scene of Crime Officers attended the scene and conducted a canvass of the neighbourhood to gain dash cam and home surveillance video footage.

Police received a total of six reports of theft from vehicles around Cobourg that occurred over the weekends of October 22 to 24 and November 5 to 8. In all cases, a window was smashed, and personal property was taken from the vehicles. In addition to these reports, police received multiple reports of theft from unlocked vehicles over the same time period.

Date and location of the reported incidents:
• October 22 – Westwood Crescent
• October 23 – Fairbanks Road
• October 24 – Sutherland Crescent
• November 5 – Fraser Crescent
• November 6 – Daintry Crescent
• November 7 – Munson Crescent

The Cobourg Police Service Crime Analyst provided a still image and surveillance video footage of the suspect believed to be linked to several of the incidents. Cobourg Police Service is also releasing a crime map of the incidents and dates of the occurrences.
